Precept Mercantile’s promoters bring to the board a cumulative commodity trading experience of more than 30 years. These talented entrepreneurs have played an instrumental role in the enhancement of trade links between India and Indonesia in their primary focus area: commodity trading. The formation of Precept Mercantile Pvt Ltd is an offshoot of the promoters’ thrust for expansion.
Precept Mercantile is a joint venture of three corporate entities with existing business relationships that have been built over a decade. These synergies led to the development of a unique model – the incorporation of Precept Mercantile Private Limited. The organization started off in 2011 with a dedicated focus on agro commodities.
With full-fledged operations based out of Kochi, India and Medan, Indonesia, Precept Mercantile has come a long way since its origins in agro commodity export and import. Today, the trading firm is among the leaders in the following areas:
- Export and import of agro commodities
- Coconut shell charcoal provider for activated carbon production
- Contract manufacturer of wooden furniture and fittings
- Organized tour package provider for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia
Way forward
As part of its expansion roadmap, Precept Mercantile has set its sights on bringing the best of Indian and Indonesian products to global retail markets. Deriving on the expertise gained over a cumulative trading tenure of over 35 years, the management team has short-listed the marketing of products like ready to drink mixes and premium food brands among its first ventures targeting India’s booming retail market.
